ABOUT STRACTIV8
Built specifically to serve social impact organisations across Africa.
Stractiv8 is a communications and technology agency built specifically to serve social impact organisations across Africa. Our managed technical services cover two areas: WordPress website hosting and remote IT support — giving NGOs and civil society organisations a single outsourced technical partner for their entire digital and IT environment.
HOW WE DELIVER
A technical triad — orchestrated by Stractiv8.
We are not a single-contractor model and we are not a generalist agency that does everything shallowly. Stractiv8 operates as an orchestrator — we bring deep development-sector specialisation and our own internal technical delivery capacity, and we leverage pillar-level specialist depth from two long-standing partners: Teracore on hosting infrastructure, and Knights IT Solutions on cyber security. The triad together delivers what large corporations take for granted, scaled for the realities of African civil society.
Pillar 01 · Orchestrator
Stractiv8
Sector specialisation, agency delivery capacity, client orchestration.
- Deep understanding of NPO and donor-funded operations
- Internal technical capacity — web, comms, design, integration
- Client liaison, contract ownership, monthly reporting
- Cross-subsidy model that keeps services accessible
Pillar 02 · Infrastructure
Teracore
Deep managed-hosting expertise. The engine room behind every Stractiv8 site.
- Hetzner / GridPane architecture
- EU-hosted infrastructure, capacity planning
- 24/7 server monitoring and performance tuning
- DNS-keyed tier architecture
Pillar 03 · Cyber security
Knight IT Solutions
SOC-grade cyber security delivery via Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud.
- Anti-ransomware, EDR/XDR, RMM, DLP
- Backup + DR, email security, posture management
- Awareness training + compliance reporting
- Active managed-services capacity on the cyber estate
Most NPO-facing agencies are generalists: a bit of hosting, a bit of IT, a bit of cyber — none of it at specialist depth. Most direct alternatives are either a sole contractor with shallow coverage, or three separate vendors with no integration. The triad model is the difference. One agency, one contract, three layers of specialist expertise — what corporate IT departments routinely access, finally available to civil society.
How we price
Custom proposals, not a public price list.
Our service tiers (Seed → Baobab for hosting, Basic → Enterprise for IT, Mail Shield → Fortress for cyber) describe SCOPE — not a take-it-or-leave-it rand amount. Every proposal is built around your organisation’s scale, mission profile, and ability to pay. Larger donor-funded engagements pay a margin that funds accessible pricing for community-level NPOs. Cross-subsidy is deliberate; it is how we keep the same managed stack available to a continental funder and a grassroots collective.
Donors & Funders
Value-priced engagements at premium scope. You’re buying continuity, jurisdictional posture, and integrated cyber + IT — not just a server.
Established NPOs
Standard tier pricing at the cost-plus-margin floor. Predictable engagements at Root, Branch, or Canopy scope with formal SLA.
Grassroots NPOs
Subsidised access. Same plugin stack, same SLA, same team — different price. We don’t run a tech-support sweatshop chasing volume; we carry small orgs deliberately.
Infrastructure jurisdiction
Why our servers are global.
Our two managed servers are hosted under EU jurisdiction, GDPR aligned, and explicitly outside the reach of the US Cloud Act. This is a deliberate choice, not a technical accident.
The Legal Layer
The US Cloud Act gives US authorities the right to compel American cloud providers (AWS, Google, Azure) to produce data — even data physically stored in South Africa. POPIA data residency is satisfied; US legal compulsion is not avoided.
Belgium hosting sits under GDPR and EU data-protection law. That extraterritorial reach does not apply.
The Mission Layer
Many of the organisations we serve work with vulnerable populations — women’s rights defenders, journalists, LGBTQ+ communities, or grantees in politically restrictive contexts. For them, jurisdictional choice is operational security.
EU-funded NGOs increasingly require GDPR-aligned infrastructure as a procurement clause. Belgium hosting clears that bar without negotiation.
This adds ~150–200ms latency vs af-south-1. For content sites this is invisible; for high-frequency admin tools it can be perceptible. Ask us before deciding.
